Welcome to the web presentation of the project "Support to Regional Policy Implementation II" financed and managed by the Delegation of the European Union to Georgia!

The European Union is developing an increasingly close relationship with its neighboring countries, including gradual economic integration and deepening political cooperation. In order to achieve this integration, the Euro-pean Commission implements numerous technical assistance programs to align the policies, institutional struc-tures and financing mechanisms of third countries with those of the EU.
Specifically, through the Instrument for Pre-Accession Assistance (IPA) and the European Neighbourhood Instru-ment (ENI), the EU strives to reduce regional disparities within and between countries by providing support for effective and efficient funding of structurally weak regions, including territorial cooperation between border re-gions. The primary aim is to support job creation, business competitiveness, economic growth and sustainable development through targeted investments.
EUIPN3 002

The present project will help enhance Georgian regional development policy effectiveness by supporting the MRDI and other stakeholders in regional policy formulation and implementation in the context of better approximation of Georgia with applicable EU policies. It will support MRDI in overall efficient implementation of the strategies for Regional Development and in increasing stakeholder capacities to implement an integrated regional development policy framework throughout the country. The project will further assist MRDI and stakeholders to improve their capacities in monitoring and evaluation in the field of regional policy. EU's best practice for enhancing the Beneficiary's capacities will be shared. Stakeholders will also be supported in establishing and maintaining improved data collection mechanisms for collecting up-to-date statistics regarding the regional development including disparity analysis. The contractor, according to the EU best practices, will also be guiding MRDI in setting up Regional Development Agencies, including capacity building activities

EUD Georgia mandated a consortium of three private EU companies with the implementation of the project. For further information and contacts please see the drop-down menus at the top of this page.
